2023 Chablis, Vaudésir, Grand Cru, Jean-Paul & Benoît Droin, Burgundy Bordeaux First Growth Paul KeatingDroin has 1. 05 hectares in Vaudsir, split between two parcels, one each side of the steeply sloping valley. One faces north and brings freshness, the other faces south, providing weight and power. The nose is open and giving; peach, orange and sweet spice notes all jostle for position. On the palate, the sheer weight of fruit makes this surprisingly approachable at this stage. There is a creamy, viscous feel to the texture, nicely kept in check by a
