Trousers are a heavy dark blue / black wool with fishtail for braces and bullion wire thread stripes

It has been reconditioned after 1925 (as many WW1 Italian helmets were) for use by the Corps of Public Security Agents

they were unpopular with the troops and nicknamed the ‘cap ridiculous’

introduced in 1943 to replace the field service cap
